ExperienceI have thoroughly mastered the art of standardized test taking. I graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor's degree in English Literature, with a focus on Cultural Semiotics and Critical Theory. At this time, I am in law school at Fordham University. I have a comprehensive working knowledge of various tests, like the SAT and the Regents. My method involves viewing each exam as a game. In my mind, there is a code that needs to be cracked, and I have to figure out the structure of each section and question type in order to get through it. Treating the tests as puzzles gets students engaged and brings a lot of fun to the learning environment.I have worked with third through eighth grade academically gifted students in my local public school district. So, I learned that it is very important to stimulate children's minds with new ways of thinking creatively. I want students to realize that there is so much more to taking a test than simply getting a passing grade. With each one, you learn something new. The reward is developing new thought processes that can be used in other areas of life in the future. I can see the true potential in each and every student.
